We recently partnered with the University of Liverpool’s Clinical Psychology Department to host a Speed Mentoring session. Think speed-dating, but for career insight!
Nearly a dozen mentors from Black and Global Majority backgrounds joined our event to share their journeys with aspiring clinical psychologists from similar backgrounds who are eager to start their own journey.
Mentorship like this matters deeply
By seeing professionals who reflect their identity and hearing their voices, we gain not only technical guidance but confidence, a sense of belonging, and figures who understand the cultural and systemic hurdles. This kind of tailored support improves educational outcomes, identity affirmation and long-term success.
We’re collaborating to remodel the whole system! By shifting representation, creating networks where none existed, and building inclusive cultures rather than expecting individuals to navigate barriers alone.
